Shipping and Receiving Clerk
As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk in the food industry, you are a crucial link in the supply chain, responsible for coordinating the receipt, storage, and shipment of food products and materials. Responsibilities
- Receiving: Receive and inspect incoming shipments of food products and materials, verifying accuracy and quality.
- Storage: Safely and efficiently store products in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper rotation and organization.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, including receipts, withdrawals, and adjustments.
- Order Fulfillment: Prepare and pack orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
- Shipping Coordination: Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers and logistics partners.
- Shipping Documentation: Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Quality Control: Monitor product quality during receiving and report any deviations or defects.
- Inventory Counts: Conduct regular physical counts of inventory to maintain accuracy.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a secure and hygienic warehouse environment.
- Inventory Disposal: Identify and manage disposal of expired or damaged inventory in accordance with regulations.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk or in a related role, preferably in the food or logistics industry.
- Proficiency in inventory management practices and software.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and shipments.
- Adherence to safety and hygiene protocols.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
